The Town of Weare is in the process of forming an Ethics Committee. If
you would be interested in getting more information as it becomes

Agricultural Committee - The mission of the Agricultural Committee
(AC) is to protect and
conserve agricultural land and to enhance the practice of agriculture in the
Town of Weare. Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month
@5:00pm in the library.
Benefit Review Committee
-
This Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of
Selectmen responsible for reviewing the benefits and salary structure of
town employees. This will involve research, good common sense and
objectivity. Meetings are to be determined each month.
Bicycle/Pedestrian Pathway Committee -
The mission
of this committee is to facilitate and encourage bicycling and walking as
convenient, safe, and practical forms of transportation in the Town of
Weare. Benefits include improved human and environmental health,
economic activity, community vibrancy, and transportation. Meetings
are to be determined each month.
Building Committee -
To access the Town
Office and building needs and bring up to code. Meetings are the 3rd
Tuesday of each month @4:00p.m.
Cable TV Committee -
CATV6
This committee is responsible for providing
broadcast time and access equipment to qualified community members and
televising community events. Meetings are held the 1st Thursday of each month
at 6:00 p.m.
CERT
-
Community Emergency Response Team)
is a training program that prepares you to help
yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a disaster.
As a member of a CERT team, you can respond to disasters, participate in
drills & exercises, and take additional training. CERT teams are known
and trusted resources of emergency responders and their communities.
Meetings are held the 3rd Weds. of each month @7:00pm @ the Weare Safety
Complex.
CIP SUBCOMMITTEE
-
This Committee is a
subcommittee of the Planning Board and is a document
projecting the capital needs of the town, broken down into its various
departments. A proper CIP projects the major projects for the next 6
to 10 years, providing the Selectmen with a valuable tool for budgeting.
Members of the CIP Subcommittee may be asked to meet at various times to
accommodate different schedules. Meetings are the 3rd Weds. from
8-10am in Town Office Basement conference room.
Citizen's Corp Council
-
The mission of Citizen Corp
is to harness the power of every individual through education, training, and
volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared
for terrorism, crime, public health issues and disasters of all kinds.
Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month @8:30am in the Great Room at
the Safety Complex.
Cemetery Trustees (elected 3 year term)-
All meetings, unless otherwise
specified, are held at 5:00pm at the Town Office
Conservation Commission (3 year term) -
A Commission
whose purpose is to preserve and protect valuable, natural and open land
resources. Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Economic Development Committee
-
This Committee
explores new ways to assist existing and potential businesses in the Town to
grow and prosper. Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each
month at 7:00 p.m.
Ethics Committee -
This Committee is to research and
develop a workable code of ethics for the Town of Weare which shall
establish standards of conduct, address who the code of ethics applies to,
put in place a process and procedures to make the code workable, establish a
plan to educate and train those to whom the code applies, develop rules for
enforcing the code, establish procedures to avoid abuse of the code,
establish the process by which future members of the EC are to be elected or
appointed and develop a warrant article to be placed on the town warrant in
2006. Meetings are to be determined each month.
Finance Committee (appointed 3 year term)
- The Finance
Committee evaluates the financial and budgetary recommendations of the
Board of Selectmen and the Weare School District and reports its
recommendations thereon, explaining the tax impact such proposals will have
on the Town’s tax rate. Meetings are to be determined each month.

Open Space Committee

This Committee is a standing subcommittee of the Weare Conservation
Commission, investigating and deliberating potential conservation property
acquisitions and providing recommendations to the WCC. Meetings are
held the 4th Tuesday of each month from 7-9pm in the Conservation Room, 2nd
floor of Town Office building.
Overseer of Public Welfare (appointed by BOS)
Parks & Recreation Director
Parks & Recreation Commission (appointed 3 yr term)-
The
Parks and Recreation Committee manages and oversees maintenance of the
Town’s recreation and park facilities, including Chase Park, Ineson Memorial
Field, and Purington Memorial Field. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00
p.m. From April to Sept. meetings are the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month.
Planning Board (appointed 3 yr term)-
The
Planning Board administers the Subdivision Ordinance, prepares, amends and
updates the Town’s Master Plan and recommends changes in the Zoning
Ordinances to the Town Meeting. Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th
Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Weare Center Advisory Committee
- This subcommittee of the
Planning Board advises and recommends changes to the Zoning Ordinance to the
Planning Board. Outreach to community members who live within the
"village center" to include their input in the Weare Center Advisory
Committee actions. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each
month @7:00pm.
Zoning Board (appointed 3 yr term) -
The Zoning Board of adjustment is empowered to
grant variances and exceptions to the Zoning Ordinance and issues permits
otherwise prohibited by the Ordinance, when principals of justice and equity
compel such result. The ZBA meets the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7:30
p.m.
The Town of Weare is looking for
citizens who are interested in playing an active role in the community. By
filling out this form, a list of names of citizens willing to serve
voluntarily on boards, committees and commissions can be compiled and
readily available when needed.
